A recent cyber attack on Arbitrum’s official Discord server has caused havoc. The hack was carried out using phishing links to target the platform’s users. As a result, $500,000 in ARB tokens were stolen. The phishing message contains claims about a fake additional stake reclaim opportunity in Arbitrum DAO Governance.

CertiK, a blockchain security company, announced the news on Twitter on March 25th. They urged all users to exercise extreme caution when clicking on any links until the Arbitrum team resolved the matter. Unfortunately, it appears that the disaster may not be over here. Only strong security measures will help prevent similar attacks from happening in the future.

After delving deeper into the matter I found that the phishing link sent by the hacker prompted the user to a blank website where they saw a message in urdu “Astaghfirullah” which means “I seek forgiveness in God”.
