Funko is introducing iconic characters and items from Back to the Future in digital form, inviting fans to embark on a futuristic collection journey. Among the 45,000 Funko NFTs, collectors can seek highly sought-after assets like Dr. Emmett Brown and Marty McFly Funko Pop NFTs, alongside Einstein Funko Pop and the time machine Funko Pop. Many NFTs in this series showcase animated digital artwork designed as NFT cards.
These NFTs are available in two pack types. The Standard Pack, priced at $9.99, contains five NFTs, while the Premium Pack, priced at $29.99, includes fifteen items.
The Back to the Future Funko NFT collection offers items of various rarity levels, including Legendary and Grail.
In an innovative twist, Funko has introduced exclusive physical collectibles linked to its NFT drop. Collecting a Grail, Legendary, or Royal Set of Funko NFTs grants owners a Redemption Token, redeemable for a physical collectible. Funko suggests using a dedicated Collection Tracker to monitor progress. Redemption is scheduled for February 14, 2024.
Funko emphasizes that collecting the required sets after the snapshot won’t yield a Redemption Token and advises against opening packs or transferring items around the snapshot time.
Redemption Tokens also have an expiration date, concluding on March 15th, 2024, at 11:59:59 PM PT for The Back to the Future Funko NFT collection.
To obtain these Funko NFTs, collectors can join a queue a few minutes before the sale begins on October 17th, 2023, at 11 AM PT. Packs and Digital Pop!™ can be purchased after the initial sale on the Dropp Marketplace.
This marks Funko’s first digital collectibles series dedicated to the cult classic, Back to the Future. It follows previous digital collections like Funko Pop Transformers, which featured iconic Transformers characters and was released via the WAX blockchain in March 2022. Funko has also ventured into movie-themed NFT collections like Stranger Things Funko Pop and Jurassic Park Funko Pop, along with numerous successful series based on cartoons and comics.
Funko’s foray into the NFT space continues to blend nostalgia with the digital age, offering fans both digital and physical collectibles. The Back to the Future collection is sure to be a hit among enthusiasts, and the innovative Redemption Token system adds an exciting layer to the NFT experience. As Funko diversifies its NFT offerings, it solidifies its position as a key player in the world of collectibles and blockchain-based assets.
