On Friday, Samsung Asset Management (Hong Kong) Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Samsung Asset Management, a Samsung Group company, launched the “Samsung Bitcoin Futures Active ETF.”
Samsung Bitcoin Futures Active ETF units are listed and traded on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (SEHK) in Hong Kong dollars, despite bitcoin’s pricing in U.S. dollars.
The Bitcoin Futures Exchange Traded Fund (BTCF) is managed by Samsung Asset Management (Hong Kong) Ltd., while HSBC Institutional Trust Services (Asia) Ltd. acts as trustee and registrar for the fund.
Samsung Asset Management already had other cryptocurrency-related funds before launching the new ETF. The Samsung Blockchain Technologies ETF and the Samsung Asia Pacific ex-New Zealand Metaverse Theme ETF were both released by the Hong Kong company in June of last year.
